Alan Buckley was brought up on Merseyside, and now lives in Oxford. He is the author of two pamphlets (Shiver and
The Long Haul), and the full collections Touched (HappenStance
2020) and Still (Blue Diode Press 2025). His poems have been
highly commended in the Forward and Bridport prizes. He was a founding
editor of ignitionpress (based at Oxford Brookes University). He has
taught creative writing to adults in various settings,
and to young people with both First Story and Arvon. He has organised
numerous live poetry events in Oxford over the past twenty years, and is
currently involved in the running of events and workshops at the Oxford
Poetry Library. He also works as a psychotherapist.
